About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager (Contract) based in Houston to lead complex, cross-functional digital and technology initiatives from kickoff through delivery. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused: you’ll own scope, schedule, budget, and risk while coordinating internal stakeholders and external partners to keep work moving and decisions unblocked.
You’ll bring strong agency/tech project management experience, comfort operating in Agile environments, and the ability to translate business goals into clear plans, milestones, and execution rhythms. Success in this role looks like predictable delivery, transparent reporting, proactive risk management, and high trust with stakeholders.
This is a contract position in Houston with a target compensation range of $2,000–$3,500 USD (as provided).
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience delivering technology or digital agency projects
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams through full project lifecycles in fast-moving environments
- Strong command of project controls: scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, risk, and change management
- Proficiency with JIRA and/or Asana, including backlog organization, workflow setup, and reporting dashboards
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive-ready status updates
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Availability to work as a contract Senior Project Manager in Houston
Preferred qualifications
- PMP certification
- Agile/Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP)
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and complex dependency chains
- Background delivering web, mobile, platform, or systems integration projects
- Experience working with distributed teams and external partners while maintaining delivery cadence
